Beauty salons are exposed to numerous occupational risks. To support businesses in the sector, the CARSAT scheme for hairdressing salons offers targeted solutions. Thanks to the grant and measures to prevent ergonomic risks, hairdressers can now improve their working conditions.
Why are hairdressing salons eligible for CARSAT grants?
The hairdressing sector is particularly affected by risks associated with repetitive movements, prolonged postures and standing for long periods.
These demands often lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which can have a long-term impact on employees’ health. This is why CARSAT includes hairdressing salons amongst the professions eligible for its grants.
The reasoning is simple: better prevention means avoiding sick leave, reducing absenteeism and maintaining business operations under good conditions.
By prioritising prevention, professionals protect their team whilst enhancing their business. Furthermore, the grants are designed to encourage investment in ergonomic furniture.
For example, wash basins designed to reduce postural risk factors are now eligible.
The Head Spa Luxury model offers optimal neck support and a built-in massage system.
The Push-Up Relax features a leg rest that improves the hairdresser’s comfort whilst working.
As for the Push-Up Massage, it combines ergonomics with client wellbeing.

What are the eligibility criteria for CARSAT funding?
To be eligible for a grant, your salon must meet several criteria.
Firstly, it must employ fewer than 50 staff. Secondly, it must be up to date with its social security and tax obligations, and must not be subject to penalties for non-compliance with safety regulations.
The investment must relate to equipment included on the list of eligible items published by CARSAT.
This equipment must contribute to risk prevention, particularly musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The grant can cover up to 50 per cent of the cost of the equipment excluding VAT, subject to a ceiling set according to the type of grant.
It is also essential that the purchase is not made before the application has been approved. A quotation must be attached to the application.
Once the grant has been approved, the equipment can be ordered, after which proof of payment must be sent in order to receive the payment.
How do you apply for CARSAT funding for your hairdressing salon?
The first step is to identify the equipment eligible for the grant.
Once you have made your choice, log in to the net-entreprises.fr website to access the dedicated service.
You will need to complete an online form, attach a quotation and, in some cases, a workplace risk assessment form.
Once submitted, CARSAT will review your application. If everything is in order, you will receive provisional approval. You can then place your order.
Once the equipment has been delivered and paid for, you will need to provide a paid-up invoice to finalise the application.
This procedure may seem bureaucratic, but it is still straightforward. If in doubt, please do not hesitate to contact your regional CARSAT office.
Some even offer specialist health and safety advisers to assist you.
Invest in ergonomics: provide your team with lasting comfort!
